A base map at urban scale (1:1000) of the territory under  project (hinterland of Cagliari),  has been developed.   On this base we overlaid the survey of the water piping and of the house numbers.  The use of a specific software application allows monitoring the condition of the pipes,  obtaining in real time all the relating data, allowing to carry out motion simulations, in order to understand the effects of particular interventions on the whole system,  and to facilitate the search for possible leakages.

The aim of the project was to study the Baratz lake and its basin in order to understand the ruling mechanisms and factors that determine its progressive decline, and to select concrete action (reclamation interventions),  that will allow the lake to return to good health. A wide monitoring has been conducted to check the main characteristics of the site, through research campaigns and analysis that defined the factors influencing its health. After this, the reclamation plan and the operational strategy have been identified, and certain reclamation interventions, done.

The project concerns the census of the landfills situated in the Sardinian region. All the information available on each landfill has been collected regarding their geographical position and extension, the kind and quantity of rubbish, the chemical analysis, the photographs and so on. All this information flowed into a relating database. A software application has been developed in order to allow the management of the data and the navigation among the different types of information: alphanumerical, photographs and maps. The database and the management application allow the monitoring of the situation of the landfills involved in this project. 

Realization of the regional Forest Inventory and the restoration plans of the forest top-soils of the territories belonging to and/or managed by the State Forest Enterprise of the Autonomous Region of Sardinia, and also to the special Enterprise of Budduso` and the council of Pattada". The Forest Inventory represent a cognitive instrument that gives a realistic outline of the comprehensive knowledge of the bio-ecological characteristics of the forestry and pastoral resources. It moreover provides spot information on the technical and administrative events,  in order to realize and ensure a rational and long lasting management and a well balanced use of this rich natural heritage. The passed inventorial system, based on modern survey techniques, has been obtained by integrating surveys from aerial photos with researches and ground measurements leaning upon a mesh of permanent sample areas. It allows to  control the evolution of the regional woods and to check with continuity the relations between the characteristics of the several forestry phytocenosis and the production of specific goods or the chance to bring specific benefits.  A great mass of data, acquired during the various phases of the project, flowed into the geographical information system of the Inventory. This data consists of the base maps of the whole region at the 1:25000 scale, the data coming from the photo-interpretation of about 150,000 points (regional mesh 400x400 meters wide), and the data obtained from the surveys on the ground. Also the Economic Plans of about 30 forest territories have been developed. The have been carried out using a more detailed base map (1:10000 scale) and a more dense inventorial mesh (200x200 meters). The geographical information system has been developed using the Arc-Info software.

This project is based on the installation of 30 emplacements for electronic survey (the visible and infrared area) in the Sardinian territory. These installations are used for sighting fires and to manage all the subsequent operations connected to emergencies. The system has a gerarchical structure, therefore the signal collected by the sensors located in the relieving points reaches first the local seats, then the provincial and regional ones. In these centers there is a computerized system that has an alfanumeric and geographical database, allowing the real-time consultation of the characteristics of the territory (landscape, streets, rivers, land use and so on), of the meteoclimatic situation, of the resources available for the intervention and allows to activate the module for the prediction of the fire propagation.   

In the eventuality of re-qualifying the industrial area and re-arranging the territory of Portoscuso, the plan's goals were a detailed, urban-environmental analysis of the territory itself, so predisposing the elements necessary to estimate the possibility of expanding the existing energy-pole. The study mainly investigated the urbanistic, landscape and social-economic characteristics of the territory, including ENEL's production system and the surrounding area. Furthermore, it has located the existing development potential, and lastly, suggested the necessary interventions, to make the most of these potentials, considering the social-economic aspects, the landscape and in general, improving the quality of the environment. .
